Dp ecu question

maybe a slightly noob question..but is the tune of the DP ECU for the termi 2-1 and 2-2 mufflers any different...as i'd like to keep the look of the bike with the 2-2 and add the manifold kit...but according to my 2010 catalog

with the 2-1 termi kit you get new DP Siemens ecu
with the 2-2 mufflers you get DP Siemens ecu
with the manifold kit you get DP Siemens ecu (which you need to complete the full system with the 2-2 ) but i don't need 2 DP ecus...

so are they all the same?

does anyone know

many thanks for helping

I believe that there are three ECU options each dumping more fuel with more exhaust mods. There were quite a few threads about this concept for the earlier bikes.

Personally, I would find a leftover ECU and add a Zard or similar system and you will save some cash and you can get whatever combo you want.

Out!

I just looked it up in our system - the 2-1 full system and the collector kit (which is used with the slip-on to create the 2-2 full system) use the exact same ECU. Part number for the ECU is 96518708B.

The ECU for the underseat slip-on is different though becuase it is designed to be used with the CAT still in place. That is why a second ECU comes with the collector kit.

The third ECU was from the DP cam kit, but they have yet to release the DP cam kit for the new Hypers so there are only two options for the 2010 + Hypers at the moment.

I don't think TuneBoy has software for the Ducati Siemens ECUs (used in Hypers from 2010+ only) yet do they?

Thanks AC...is there a way to get the 2-2 mufflers w/out the DP ecu.to save some $$ as buying two DP ecu's seems silly! to me>?? (as you get one with the maifold kit) and the cost will be far more than the 2-1 also..which includes the DP ecu.

Hyper 796 race ECU

2010 HM 796

Stock ECU is 28641811C

Slip -on DP ECU is 96521310B

Cat remover DP ECU is 96521210B

Ive ordered the DP maniflod kit with air box cover and ECU.( 96521210B)
Plan to keep my stock cans
Ducati says possible running issues not warr . May run rich.
Ive been running without the cat for several hundred miles and seems to me most of the back pressure was from the cat. Bike ran way to lean to start. I doubt it will be a problem.
Will report results after install

If you buy the parts individually without the ECU you end up spending a little less. The silencers are $811 each (right and left) then there are about $140 in other pieces on the parts list. So you might save $180 or so buying the slip-on kit without the ECU. Then if you get the collector kit you'll have only the full system ECU.
