Hyper for me...soon. Whatchya think.
So, I'm going to be picking up a used hyper shortly. Ideally I was looking to spend between 7.5 and 8.5K. Looking around the CL and ebay that looked pretty doable. Trolling the local dealer sited I found this beaut, a 2008 1100S Neiman Marcus edition. Thinking of possibly raising my limit and picking it up at 11K, it's got 2500 miles.
So, question is, what you guys think. Looks like it has a full Termi which is damn near impossible to find in the price range I was looking, plus, maybe a tad of exclusivity which is cool....for a couple hours anyway.
Shall I stick to my guns or hop on this....

for 9.5k...you should be able to bag an S with some mods. The NM edition paint is a little too festive for my taste, but to each their own.
Enjoy the hunt.

If it speaks to you and you want it, go for it.

I remember watching that bike on a mag a couple years ago. I though the colors looked incredible. I see the pics now, and I don't think the same way. You also got to keep in mind that this bike is the standard model. You're paying for the color and exclusivity of Neimen Marcus and the exhuast which can be found with patients on ebay at a good price. If you're a metro sexual go for it.

Over here in Cali you can find an S w/Termi (maybe not full system) for 9-10K with 5-8,000 miles. That is a Killer deal IMO; Brand new an S w/an aftermarket full Termi bought at a separate time, you'd be like $20K into the bike!
Like others have said though, if your patient you can find a full termi exhaust (retail for $2,500 roughly) used for $1,500 - in fact there is a brand new full Termi listed in the classifieds for $1,600 - that's with the DP ECU!
Anyway - have fun with looking for the one that makes you the happiest. Make your purchase so YOU have no regrets. If you like that paint scheme the best and have to have it - go for it!

I would not buy it. I feel it's overpriced and I don't think Neiman Marcus is going to add resale value for you if you go to sell it. Just grab a "S" model for about 9.5 grand Their all over the place. Just my opinion good luck with your decision.

You can buy a lot of paint for $2k. Better yet, buy a couple cans of Krylon and do it your self for $10. Then take the $2K and get your forks and shock rebuilt with and Ohlins or other kit, that is what this bike is missing, not paint.
By the way, if that bike is the one that was displayed at the Cycle World show, then red paint on the subframe does not match the Ducati red.
Out!
