Video of my Cored 796 stock exhaust + pics of diy plate bracket

Whats up guys.

I finally had some time to finish up and get some video my cored stock exhaust, plus my new license plate bracket that I rigged up.

I still need to paint some of the mounting points but all-in-all it came out pretty good and really cleaned up the rear-end. I just couldn't justify spending over $100 for a tail-tidy. The whole DIY tail tidy cost me 10 bucks and the exhaust cost me 40 bucks for a muffler shop to re-weld it back together.

Sorry for the video, I used the wife's digital camera so the quality not that great.

Thanks,

It sounds a lot better in person than on the video. I haven't had a chance to hear a 796 with an aftermarket exhaust in person yet, so i don't know how much different a cored vs slip on exhaust sounds. But overall I love it. It sounds deeper and much more aggressive. Next up will be the Cat eliminator kit, that should really wake up the neighbors!

Thanks,

I used two metel L bracket strips that I found at the hardware store. Drilled the holes and in bolted them into the exhaust cans where the stock mounts went.

Then I got the dremel out and started cutting away. I still need to take it off, grind down some edges and paint it black. The best part is I was able to retain the stock LP light for night time riding. I was worried I wasn't going to be able to but if you start pulling stuff apart, it just kind of makes sense.

You will love the hyper. Great for the street. Fun on the track and tons of personality...
