16.5? That's really cheap for mags. Don't think I'd want to run them on the street though but then in 16.5 you don't have too many (any?) DOT options.

The Marchesini site shows 3.5 x 16.5 (f) and 5.5 x 16.5 (r) for track use for all the Ducati models. BST also has that size indicated for race use. I'd use them on the track only.
I think it's for both because they say MSRP is $3400+ but it isn't clear and you're probably right, 1 seems more realistic.
I probably not interested anyway but I thought it was interesting.

It's oddly cheap for a set.
I think the issue with 16.5" is that there's no street tires for them, so you're limited to track use only.
I know you're doing some track days, so maybe having an extra 16.5" with very soft tires, ready to be mounted in your garage would be a nice thing to have.
I've been looking for wheels on ebay for a little while now.
There's also this magnesium set for 848, a 17", that's listed for 2k and it's been there at least 5 monthes !

The ebay listing mentions both front and rear.
And the ebay vendor seems to have some good feedback.
I would dig a little bit more if I was looking for a set of light wheel.

If you have 'S" model wheels already, those won't be too much lighter. When i swapped, to BST's I was shocked how light the stock wheels were.

The 16.5" wheel is for racing slicks. As far as I know they dont make a 16.5 DOT tire (not even a DOT race tire).

I've heard that before. My intent was not to save weight but to have a second set of wheels with slicks for the track. I came across the magnesium set seemed really cheap and I thought I must be missing something. In fact I've haven't found stock "s" wheels cheaper.
I know that slicks might be overkill for me but what the heck you only go around once.

The seller is Lockhart Phillips. They must be overstocked and just selling them out near cost.
