My bike is loud...but not really?
I have a 2009 HM 1100 with the Termi slip on's and LV car eliminator and while I love the sound, i feel like I am losing my hearing while riding. I'm now riding with earplugs which is a bit better...
The funny thing is that the bike is not really very loud when not on the bike. My old R1 or my RC51 were way louder to people on the street but the HM is mad loud on the bike.
Why?
Anyone else find this?

i just sold my Termi's and i'm waiting for my SC-Project to come in and ride around with no can's on and it's not that bad.

I got Termi slip-on, Zard headers and DucShop stacks.
The bike is loud when I'm riding it, I recently found out that it's also loud from the outside.
We recently went to NH and I let a friend of mine try my Hyper while we were taking pictures of him in curves. I could hear the bike from far away.
And the 154$ ticket I got this morning, for loud pipes, under Tunnel Ville-Marie, reminded me that the bike is loud enough to catch cop's attention. (being in a tunnel didnt help at all on this one)

How's about a lil sound clip while you're sans cans?

My last bike, an Aprilia RSV1000R had cored stock pipes. Now that was loud, and harsh. With my full 2-1 Termi system I will agree is loud but it actually sounds good.

Mine was quiet like yours as I had the same setup then I added velocity stacks, now my ears bleed on hard acceleration.

It's not the hard acceleration that gets me, its really the cruising on the highway or constant speed at like 4000rpm or so. Its like the frequency or something...weird.
I might try the db killers and see what that's like. Problem is I like the sound.
Any idea what the db killers do to power?

dB-killer sux. It does less noise than stock if you use them. Kinda lose the whole point of having Termis there.
I ride with earplug when I have to take the highway more than 20min, it cuts the noise of the wind and part of the exhaust note.
I can still hear the air intake from DucShop's stacks very well tho, and that's a very addictive one !

Do you have velocity stacks? Its the noise of them sucking air that is so F.... loud it drowns out everything else but its only when your hard on it. I dont have dB killers as I tossed mine in the the garbage bin, they have never been on the bike.

+1 on the stacks. I used to be able to ride with no plugs, but now with stacks, I can't open the throttle more than 20% without feeling my ears imploding... but in a good way.
