8K Redline????

Sorry if this is a repost. But I just got my 2010 SP back from the shop with full race termi and DP ECU and I hit the rev limiter at 8K. Is this correct? I only have 700 miles on the bike.

Could it be because the SP has the Streetfighter Speedo/tach? Just a guess I'm not saying this is fact.

My issue is there is no shift light at all. Second I cannot find anyplace where is says the official rev limiter is set. I was told by the sales person that it went to 10K.

You don't really need a shift light, it only goes to twelve for the same reason a Datsun B210 has a speedo that went to 140MPH. Don't ever believe a sales person. Stop loooking the gift horse in the mouth...

Well part of my issue is I am coming off a CBR1000RR with heavy mods. So it looks like i am going to have to learn how to ride different. I have a funny feeling I am going to bounce off the limiter a bunch of times. Just such a small RPM range.

Although it is a small RPM range.. think about the usability (if that is a word) of the range.. You can use 3k to 8k, while in that 1000CBR you are 6k to 12k. For hard street riding, i find the tard alot more fun to drive than the liters. My 2 cents.

3-4K has lots of uses, don't forget the shaken baby syndrome use.
