New guy:

Hey guys and gals,

I'm a new guy here, but not new to motorcycles. I've been riding for quite some time, but only on sportbikes. I've made the decision that I will be dedicating my Daytona 675 for the track and am extremely excited to be in the market for a Ducati Hypermotard.

I did a quick search, but I couldn't find a thread explaining the differences or improvements that they have made through the years of these beautiful machines. If someone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.

Welcome Tapcon and sorry for the delay.

The 2008 model is the most prevailent in the used market as they made them from mid-2007 until mid-2009. For 2009, they changed the forks on the "S" to Kayaba 48mm from Marzocchi 50mm, but I believe everything else remained pretty much the same.

For 2010, they went back to Marzocchi 50mm forks but went longer on the "S".. A bunch of changes for both bikes to include lighter weight and a little more power. The "S" is now called the "SP" and both are labeled as "EVO". Since they are current, you can look up the spec sheets on the Ducati site.

Happy hunting.

Dave
