What would you do?

Ok... so Im about to take the plunge and put the down payment on a new 796
But I was asked by the dealer if I wanted 3% off the price of the bike or 5% off the bike with some extras (in the form of a voucher to be spent of Ducati stuff i.e. Riding gear or accessories for the bike.... incld. Termi Upgrades!)

Anyway, 3% on the bike seems negligible and so I'm leaning toward getting upgrades of gear. So here's my question:
Is it worth it to get the Termi's at a discounted price or should I invest in something a little more practical like the touring bags?

Personally I'm torn as Living in Italy gives one a wikkid chance for some great touring... lots and lots of mountains passes to rip on, but termi's....mmmmmm

regards,
J

I'd go for the Termi's for sure for the local area fun
You can always get the bags later, their not that expensive, the Termi kit is...

Well... I use term "touring" liberally With the tank bags and small-ish rear, you come out with around 36-40 liters of stowage.... which isnt all that much really. BUT... its on a Motard!

Get a piece of paper and write down the numbers.

3% of price = $?
5% of Termi= $?

Which is the better number.

+1 check the numbers... however I would assume that you could get a better deal on the termi than the percentage and buying direct from Ducati.. could be wrong though as I never have done it.

Good luck either way.

Hmmm.... you have a point, as being in Italy, Termi's could be had slightly cheaper, however, the double under-seat set up is 1200 Euro and the single "racing" side set up in carbon, is 1495 euro... so I'd essentially be throwing the money at one of those two to bring the price down... but I'm torn... I love the side mounted single exhaust, but the under seat is cheaper... but would probably burn my wifes ass off on longer rides

Im definnitely going for the 5% though as 3% on the bike works out to like 223 Euros or something... I'd rather get parts for the bike then save 200 euro
