fork cartridge question

I saw this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Used-...item4aa30d647c

I believe it is a used cartridge for a hyper. I didn't have my forks apart that far to know for sure. If it is a hyper damper, does anyone know which forks it would be from?

I would love to buy this for cheap to give to my suspension guy to see if he could machine the top off so we could get into the valving. I'd rather have him piss with a junker to see if we could improve on my OEM set.

I have been thinking along the same lines, contacted maxton to see what was involved in machining the cartridge but hav'nt heard back.

so what do you think, does that look like 08-09 cartridge?

I sent the seller the question. We will see what he says. It would be great if we could get inside there and switch some things around. I have purchased shims from racetech before for other bikes.

The pic from Sakurama thread looks different but the crimp is probably the same.

I will wait on the seller's response and watch the auction. If it stays cheap, I will give it a shot. If it is a SV damper rod or some other irrelevent crap, I will donate it to the metal recycler!

These are the 2008 OEM Marzocchi cartridges. Feel free to make an offer. I'm not giving them away but I'm open to what you think they're worth...

they do look different than the one on the ebay auction. I wonder if the damper in the auction is for the new KYB's?

supero100. I don't want to insult you by even making an offer. This is way low on my priority list and the only reason I showed interest is because I saw the ebay auction.

thanks for the pics though. At least I didn't waste my money.

It would be great if you could take some pics of the crimped end so we can see what we are dealing with

Cheers
