Omg
Walked into the garage this am to ride to work. The hyper was not home. Hmm, oh geez I forgot to put the bike in the garage when I got home from work last night. I walked to the street behind my garage and there the bike had sat all night with the key in the ignition.
My bike was parked in the alley behind my house from5pm last night to 7am this morning with the key in the ignition. Did I mention I left the key in the ignition? I don't live in a bad neighborhood but there is a fair bit of foottraffic in the alley.
Holy smokes, I can't believe I doubted the presence of God.
My insurance also lapsed last night so the bike would have been gone gone gone, nothing left but a loan to pay off.
I can't believe what a knuckle head I was. I am so grateful to still have a bike. Just have to wait until next tuesday to renew the insurance.
Oh yeah, thanks for the board and the heads up that Ducati was looking for volunteers at Laguna. I got a volunteer gig! woohoo, free 3 day pass and some tshirts too.

Wow dude! You dodged a bullet there. Nice to hear that sometimes our things are okay anyway.

Wow, you got crazy lucky. Daly City isn't a dangerous at all, but there is a shit ton of theft that goes on over there. I worked at Digidesign for a few years, and there was some kind of theft at least once a week in that parking garage.

put the insurance on your Credit card....
Our insurance will give you two weeks or so , just let them know , that you'll be late..
We also pay at least a grand a year for the included theft coverage...

Dude, I did the same thing with my DR-Z last year! I almost fainted when it wasn't in the garage. Now the last thing I do before I go to bed is open the garage door a crack to make sure I see the Hyper's red light flashing in there.

Reminds me of a similar story. I went of vacation for the weekend, and shut the garage as we drove off. Apparently, the garage door hit something and went back up. Garage was open ALL weekend. All 3 bikes were in the garage, with keys in them. TONS of tools laying around. And the door to the house unlocked.
Almost threw up when I pulled in the driveway from our trip and saw the garage door open. Not a single thing missing!
Luck, it comes and goes......Glad to hear you didnt have any issues. A good reminder that not everyone out there is bad.
