15/43 Sprocket Combo
I wanted to report on the results of my 15/43 Supersprox combo that I installed about 750 miles back, as I don't think very many have tried this combo.
I picked up the Supersprox front and rear sprockets and an RK gunmetal chaing from JC JCPakbikes and he gave me a good deal and communicated well with the springtime shortage of rears. I definitely recommend buying from JC.
Anyway, the sprockets and chain are high quality units and the rear black sprocket looks awesome. Overall, I would say that the 15/43 combo doesn't give me what I was hoping for in terms of being able to run 3 gear more in the twisties I run. In fact, I now am hitting the rev limiter a little more than I would like in second and 3rd is still too tall. I like the fact that when putzing around in first the bike is smoother, but that is about the only thing I can say worked. I did not notice anything different in fuel mileage.
I thought about going up to a 44, but I still think that will make 2nd too short. I thought about going to a 40 or 41, but I don't think that would make 1st very useable. That being said, I think I am going to go back to stock gearing. The good thing about that is that I think I can just swap the outer sprocket on the rear with the Supersprox for less $.
Out!

Axe, I'm running 15/43 but was running 15/44 for a while. I thought 15/44 was about perfect. I may go back to that or try 15/45. I hardly ever use 6th gear

Going +2 on the rear isn't going to be *that* big of a change. You should try that before you go back to stock - assuming you have the chain length to do it with.

Yeah, I am probably going to be short a link on the chain if I went up. Down would be fine.
I use 5th and 6th when getting to where I want to ride. A lot of times I trailer the bike if going a long ways, but from my house I got about 50 miles to the twisties.
I was just hoping that the 43 would allow me to use 3rd more and not kill 2nd, but it didn't really do what I wanted and 2nd is just a little short now. 1st I like, but that is just for getting out of the driveway and gas station.
Out!

It is a 525 and I would sell it to you for a good price. I want to make sure I can get a 42 first. I think if you ran this on the right track, 3rd would be really sweet as it feels great in the 50-70 mph sweepers.
Thanks.

Black on black. Do you want the wholed sprocket assembly or just the outer teeth ring?

You can't or should'nt remove the ring from the carrier on the Superspprox.
As the circumference is different for each it would not work even if you did.
You would do better to get another rear sprox.

I didn't know you could take it apart, the whole sprocket please, just the way it came.
JC, if I get this rear sprocket I'll need a new 15t & 525 chain. Aloha Alex
