Well that did'nt take long...

Stupid car ran me off the road tonight. Had no other choice but to lock up the brakes and jump over into the next lane. The driver kept going and I hit the back of a parked car. Can not tell if the fork tubes are bent or not. Could have been worse and I'm ok just a little shook up

Sorry to hear that, glad your unscathed. Unless you really popped that car good, I bet the forks will be fine.

Too many idiots not enough bullets.

Out!

Maybe bent forks but I'd bet the clamps and axel are bent first. I hit a tree 3rd gear tapped on a KTM300 with a stuck throttle. Destroyed wheel, bent clamps, bent axel. That was with 50mm WP forks that were fine afterward.

Glad your OK.

Sorry to hear this. Glad that you are okay and minimal damge done to the bike. Too bad you couldn't chase the car down and get the license plate number to report it as a hit-n-run! Bottom line is that you are unhurt and were able to ride away.

NoPower, gald you are ok. How fast would you say you were going when your front tire impacted the parked car - 3mph, 5mph, 10mph, more?? You notice the bike acting differently at all?

Just last week some dumbass rear-ended me. I was at a standstill in traffic with with front brake on and he hit my rear tire going maybe 3-5mph. I felt a noticeable bump but not enough to knock me off the bike or out of my seat. I got his insurance numbers and all that (he said he didn't do any damage to my bike - yeah, like he'd know) even though there was no visible damage but I don't know if axel or something else might be bent. My bike rides fine but debating whether to have dealer look at it.

I'd definitely take it in and have it inspected - at the guy that hit you expense. With bikes you never know and if something is screwed up in the slightest way or just a little damaged you don't want to find out the next time you are riding a canyon or doing 80mph + on the highway.

Just my $ .02 - good luck.

I would say impact speed was around 7-10mph. A friend of mine rebuilds older ducs and he told me to bring it over to his house and we can check it out to make sure the rim and fork tubes and everything else checks out straight. It could have been a lot worse. Haha I think my wife was more pissed about it than me
