Funny thing happed on the way home from work.

Doing about 45 heading home came over a small rise and there was a big old buzzard feeding on some road kill. He then decides to fly off right at the wrong time and the wrong direction. And Wham I hit him with my helmet square dead on in the face. He then lands in my lap this buzzard had about a 3 foot wing span.So I pick him off my lap and throw him to the side of the road and he hits the ground. I then ride about a mile and decide to go back a check him out. There he is sprawled out on the ground not moving, so I poke him with my foot and he comes to life. He kind of stands up head hanging down an mouth open. He then opens his eyes and looks at me he is breathing hard and looks as if he is trying to puke. I watch him for a bit I start up the bike and he gets startled and hops away and I take off hoping to never cross paths with him again.

Hahaha, good story. Glad you're ok. Those things are bigger than a Christmas turkey. It could have been much worse.

I've had a few close calls with those birds, pretty common around here. Luckily the one that hit you was a baby and didn't puke partially digested roadkill all over you. Glad you're OK!

Yes we had a small but good storm Friday. We live in the Haualapi's and see a little more rain than in town. It was something when I hit that bird this is my third bird but this one was the biggest. When I saw it coming all I could say was the (F##*)word. I am glad when it fell in my lap and draped over my tank that it did not start flapping around. Went to dinner that evening looked for him but he was not around so I assume he did fly off.
