trade my 2001 996 mono for a 2008 hyper 1100????

hey everyone,
i'm being offered a trade for my 2001 Duc 996 mono + 2k cash for a 2008 Hypermotard 1100 w/ full termi, 4k miles. i have never owned a hyper or ridden one but many owners of the hyper has told me that it is the most fun bike that they have ridden???? what do you guys think? is this fair trade (my 996 + 2k cash for 08 hyper 1100 base model) do people get tired of the hyper fast? i have only ridden and owned superbikes so not sure what to expect. please help me out here with advice and tips.
thanks

Most of us here absolutely hate the Hyper. It's the biggest piece of.............

Did you really think that you would get an unbiased opinion on the Hyper in the Hyper Forum??

Anyway, you live in LA. You will like the Hyper more in the canyons because of the flickability and in traffic because of the view you get from sitting upright.

There are many other LA Hyper owners on here and they can help you more.

Get one, you'll be hooked.

i to also came from superbikes and have to say i love both..as soon as i saw the hyper hit the showrooms i had to have it!and have to say its my favorite bike ever.and i also came from a 16 year motorcross career so the hypers position was right up my alley and which i still ride jus not race anymore.and before my hyper i had a999r which i got rid of since i didnt need both...i was wrong 4 months after the purchase of the hyper i bought a low mileage 1098 s so now i have both!and love both as equal.

I went from a 2001 996S to an '08 Hyper and it was the best decision I've made in a long time (besides marriage...love you babe!)

The 748/996 I think is the sexiest bike out there. The ergos weren't working for me in the traffic here in Japan, nor was roasting my boys and inner thighs from the under seat exhaust. Sure clipons and a Sargeant seat helped, but the Hyper was everything I was trying to make the 996.

I was offered $5000 on a trade-in for my Hyper, so I think you aren't doing too bad with that deal.

I'm still not hooked on the looks of the hyper, but everybody seems to enjoy its company on rides.

I came from a 02 RC51 to the hyper and I think it was a good choice. I had never rode a hyper till I went to the Ducati of Milwaukee dealership and test rode one. I took out the new evo sp and was draggin foot pegs through the corners. Needless to say I brought it home and have been super happy with it. But that's just my 2 cents
