Stalling Evo SP

My friend has an Evo SP and it is stalling when downshifring as he would rev the engine to do so.... it happened like 3 times in a 1.45 hours ride...
Imagine getting to a corner fast downshifting to go in the corner and the bike shuts down... not funny... Anybody has this or heard something like this?

Yes, I too have experienced it on my brand new bike. It typically occurs when the engine is not yet hot, but it did occur once at operating temp. The motor also backfires a lot.

Will inquire with the dealer soon.

Euro 3 Emissions aka bike is running lean, they will try to sell you an aftermarket exhaust with the DP ECU for the cure.

If you already have the exhaust then the bike needs to be tuned or trimmed out.

Can I suggest a FatDuc O2 manipulator? easy fix for about $70

Same thing happened a couple times after I picked up my '10 EVO during the first week or two. However it hasn't happened since the 600 mile service, over 400 miles ago. Not sure if they make any adjustments that would effect it or not? But running strong ever since regardless.

There's a thread about that on the french Hyper board.

At least 3 persons riding EVO SP with the same problem (sebnunes, Jeffman, Rocket06).

Someone riding the EVO (non SP) also reported the same issue.

Answer from dealer are either :
1/ We dont know what cause the issue
2/ Euro 3, can't do anything. And the DP ECU still running on a close loop doesnt solve the issue.

the Fat Duc's are the proper fix, the question is will they work with the throttle bodies on the current 1100 motor. i know that the Fat Duc's will not work as they should on the brand new Multistrada 1200 and for the same reason (yes, the two motors are different, i understand that).
