What Kind of Duc Was It?

I was up north this weekend at a place called Big Lake in the White Mountains. I was at the little store/marina getting ready to head out in the boat to fish. A pack of dual sport bikes pulled up and there was a maroon colored Ducati that sort of looked like perhaps an early Multi, but sort of had a KTM Adventure look to it. Anyway on the side of the tank it said Ducati and underneath that it said Catalytic Converter (silver writing). What kind Duc was this anyway?

Out!

Yeah, it was definitely one of those two bikes. Interestingly enough it was setup much more aggressively like the Grand Canyon, but the paint was definitely maroon like the Elefant and had that weird Catalytic Converter under the Duc logo. Why is that so important to brand on a bike, I guess cause it was new then?

Anyway, it was cool to see it and interesting to learn more about it. I still think there are better options out there, but it would be fun to see Ducati in this market for real. Maybe something to compete with the BMW/KTM options, both of which I really like includig the 800-1200 options.

Out!

I saw one here in the bay area about a month ago. Interesting bike. I have read about them but that was the first one that I saw in person.
