Monticello NY Track Day

The weather held out and made for 2 great days of track time on a beautiful course!!! I highly recommend anyone within a reasonable driving distance to try out this track. It's a privately owned track built by a few VERY wealthy folks who wanted a place to store and drive their supercars. Although not completely finished the track facilities are top notch and along with the surface of the 2 tracks which can be combined into a single long course. All in all there are 6 configurations for the track.

I quickly came to find out on day 1 that the Hyper wasn't going to cut it down the long straights so it was going to be another matter of running em down under braking and through the turns, which is exactly what i did. Running the same course backwards on day 2 seemed to be some what of an equalizer though. It weird how just changing direction can alter the speed down the straights, but I wasn't complaining since I could now have some real battles with guys on race prepped 600's and a few street 1098's and inline 1000's.

After 2 days i also realized it's time for some rearsets!!!

Eating up the race 600's around the outside!

Very cool... style looks good. That track looks beautiful... out here in Calif it's just brown dirt around the tracks.

i had a little trouble settling into the hyper the second day. i think it was cause it was after lunch and i was dead tired. i had pilot road 2's on the duc i was surprised how well they handled the track. i only had a couple moments of sliding under acceleration.
couple pics

getting the road 2's mounted

Hey Orion! How funny is it that we meet on the track and then on the forum... Usually it works the other way around. As you saw I had my own issues the 2nd day after lunch as well. Although I didn't feel tired, I think I actually was. It was a good time for me to stop since the rain ended up coming in shortly after anyway.

Nice pics! I noticed when I got home that my brake pedals got some serious grindage on it as well. It's got to be about 3/4 of its original length now!

Good times! Hope to see you again sometime.

Where do you live? maybe we could hook up for a ride. I'm just south of boston.
