why does this keep happening ? ( solenoid issue)

my fuse keeps melting . all i have to do is change it and bike starts ..
any ideas?

change the fuse holder, it looks like some nasty connections on a high amp fuse

The black plastic part the fuse plugs into. Does this happen everytime? Is that the solenoid switch that fuse is mounted too? Maybe your solenoid is some how staying activated causing excessive heat

thats what im assuming.
it has happened to me 3 tmes already . leaviung me stranded . i need to carry extra fuses and 8mm socket to pull seat off ...

i guess i can try buyng a new solenoid

Wow! don't know what exactly caused that, but that is some serious damage....more than just a blown fuse. I think 1KDS nailed it. Loose connectors where the spades of the fuse plug in caused arcing and melted the fuse holder. Time to replace.

well I ordered a new solenoid from eBay so I'll try that until my 7500 sched service on 7/6/10. If I could fix the issue vs habingnthe dealer do it it's def gonna b cheaper.
