OK You will need:
8 AND 10 MM Ratchet
4-5-6 mm Hex head wrenches
Rubber mallet
Silicone spray lube
_____________
First loosen all clamps... A few on the right
The clamp on the left should be completely undone and the header on the back cyl loosea bit.
Once all clamps are loose, drop the front header (two bolts at the head) completely and pull off the Cat (it will come straight down)
Put the two parts of tha Ct delet together that run to the rear header and to the mid pipe and cans. (spray a little silicone on the ends that slide together to help moving them)
PUT THE CLAMPS ON FIRST or you will need to pull this all back off.
Putting these parts on and having them line up well is the toughest part of the job. The cat delet parts fit to gether VERY snug.
Once the ends start to line up you may find sliding them in place tough. USE the rubber mallet and just tap and wiggle and tap and wiggle and tap and wiggle... Things with slide in to place.
BOLT that section to the motor mount (just snug) once the parts are in place and the hole lines up.
Then put the last piece of the cat delet into the other pieces and re mount the front header to the head...
-tighten the front header fully (make sure the two nuts are fairly equally threaded and the header is sitting flush)
-tighten the rear header fully (same, the header fitment is the most important_
TAP AND WIGGLE THE CAT DELET AND GET EVERYTHING SETTLED INTO PLACE.
Tighten all the clamps and attach the springs and tighten the motor mount bolt.
Start the bike and check for air leaks.
I used no sealant and had a very slight rear leak. I loosed the clamp and tapped that section with the rubber mallet and refastened the clamp and the leak was gone.
Done...
The Cat delete weighs less than half of the Cat... I didnt weigh the parts.
The whole thing took an hour and a half including tool lay out and all clean up and refitting the rear clamp...
I would ride and recheck the whole system a few times.
Sound is a bit more raspy and a slight bit louder and deeper. have not been out to see if things run cooler yet...
