First full weekend at the track
Damn this is fun!! I got to do half a day in the rain before and one day in some blazing heat in a very mixed group but this past weekend was my first 2 day weekend. Found the limits of the Hypers lean angle by Saturday afternoon. So Sunday I was all set to work on body position and get off the bike more. But I found being 5'6" my lower leg would come off the opposite peg if I tried to get off the bike anymore. That with the wide bars really limited my ability to hang off and limit the lean. Guess it's time for some rearsets cause by Sunday afternoon I had scrapped the pegs through every corner at Putnam and just about destroyed the toe sliders on my Sidi's.
But this could be bad...I think I am addicted...
Here are a few pics to share and I did mount a small video camera at the end of the RH handguard. It was an interesting angle but it was only working early Sat so it wasn't all that exciting. My best times were consistent 1:29-1:31 the last 2 sessions on Sunday after the track cleared a bit in corners which I think is respectable for Putnam and my first real track days.

Looks and sounds like you were having a good time.
I am missing my Hyper and now I am really missing it after seeing your pictures.

Well get another one!! It is kinda cool to have the only Hyper at a big track day, especially here in the midwest. You never see anyone go by the guys pitted next to you with the GSXR or the R6 and say "Wow! That's cool! That looks like fun! How do you like it? I bet it's great in the corners and fun as hell on the street. I've been wanting to get one of those. How does it do on the track? You're keeping up pretty good out there."

I have those thoughts every day but I picked up a 900ss for track days and I need to give it a proper try.
I am headed over this weekend to check out the KTM SMT. Hopefully it will provide all the same highs that I got from riding the Hyper plus add the ability to tour.
Question, your past weekend was that with NESBA? If so, how did it compare with the STT events?

I have not been able to go to a STT weekend yet. I was going to go up to Gingerman this past weekend for a STT event but then I got in on a deal with NESBA at Putnam. I still want to do that track and Autobahn this year with STT.
I have only been to a NESBA weekend and the Ducati day at Putnam. The Ducati day was fun but you have a wide variety of riders in all the classes. The NESBA events are very structured and offer a lot of instruction. They are pretty strict on who moves up and have no issue with knocking someone down a class if they cannot keep pace but I guess they have to since there were so many riders at this past weekends event.
Are you doing any track days later this summer?
