796 forks ?

I've done some searching and cant seam to find much of anything about the front forks on the 796. I know there is a bunch of threads about cartridge kits for the 1100's but not much at all for the 796. Is there anything that can be done with them, or are we stuck with non adjustable forks? Its the one area of the bike that I would really like to start working on and improving.

Sorry if this has been covered...

I haven't seen anything yet and just FYI - the 1100 guys were without options for quite some time. Even springs were a pain in the ass at the start.

The 796 seems to be much more popular overseas so you might look at what some of our european friends are doing (if anything).

Thanks for that, I'll just keep my eyes open and hope some stuff comes out sooner rather than later.

You can have the guts swapped out with something aftermarket. Still not externally adjustable, though. Look into Race Tech (racetech.com) valves and springs. I'm about to do this on my 696.

GP Suspension in Oregon recently built a full cartridge kit for the old Monster 696 43mm Marzocchi fork which I believe is the same as the HYM696... or at least similar. It's comes with new fork caps and everything... check them out.

Cool, I will need to look into this. I have read the other thread about guys doing it on the 1100's. I just didn't think they offered it for my bike. Now I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope it can be done. Thanks again.
