Need help!!! engine problems
I got a Bimota DB6 (it use same engine as Hypermotard) and I don’t know how the sand get into the engine, there are many scratches on the cylinder wall and it is loose a lot of the compression.
Seems I may need to replace both cylinders and pistons. Does anyone know where can I purchase it? Or, are there any other way I can fix the engine w/o replace it?
Many thanks

strongly suggest NOT using o-rings ... piston rings will work much better, and last a lot longer

And the bill goes from 1995$ to almost 10.000$... lovely NCR parts.

Get yourself some new pistons, stock or high compression, and send them with your cylinders to (U.S. chrome) www.usnicom.com they will rebore & re-plate them at a fraction of the cost of the new ones. Tell them Alex from OZ engineering sent you. Aloha Alex

Thanks lot Alex.
If I rebore the engine, will that increase the diameter of the cylinder? Can the original piston keep it air tight?

The NCR kit does looks very sweet, but it is a bit out of my budget.
If you know where I can purchase the original pistons and cylinders kit and that will be great appreciate.
Many thanks

No, they just bore out the plating, and re-plate the cylinder to your piston size, thats why they need your pistons.
Now if you want to go "big-bore" you can get some 100mm Pistal pistons, (I got mine from the Ducshop) www.ducshop.com product# 84R60A0000 and they can bore the cylinders & re-plate them to the larger pistons for an additional cost. Aloha Alex
