Munroe Motors dealership in SanFran, CA

I'm planning on making a trip down to the bay area to buy a Hyper 796 at the end of this month, WOO HOO! I was hoping for some feedback from other owners about their experiences with some of the dealerships in CA (preferably Nor-Cal) I've been on the phone all morning getting the best out the door prices. Also, we have one Duc in the stable that needs it's 7500 mile service. I know that some of the service departments around here are not as good as others, any feedback on the service department at Munroe Motors or some of the others near the bay area & Santa Cruz?

Thank you!

Becca

monroe has a good rep but I've no experience with thier service dept. they have had some obscure parts that I needed in the past. I use Modesto Ducati for service. a bit further for you, but they are worth the drive for me.

I do ride with a couple others who use Modesto also, I've only heard good stuff about them! It's about a 7 hour drive from where I am....

thanks!

My bike was serviced by Modesto Ducati. But I am not sure about them now, they have moved & Deanna no longer is working for them. She has been very helpful to me.
You will do fine with Monroe, but when I was looking for a bike, they did not take me as a Ducati buyer, so they lost my business. With you living way up north, you will be hard pressed to find some one close to you. I guess Oregon may work, Grants Pass or Medford?

Hey JohnC,
I had the pleasure of meeting you at the races at sears point last month with DaisyUp & Kedo...we were chatting hypers in the parking lot & the Leo Vince tent, you sure have a wicked 1100! I've decided on the HM796, I'm waiting for a call back from Modesto about if they have a black one in the warehouse and how much I would be able to take it home for, hehehe

I may find myself purchasing from a dealership and taking it to another for service (ouch) But I want the initial expense of purchase to be easy on my pocketbook and the service to be gentle and efficient on my bike...

I bought my hyper from Monroe, I will never go back. They treated me like a number and only wanted my money. I was not too happy with their customer service. I was really happy to see that Ace motosports moved from San Leandro to Concord. Only a few miles from my house. They were the complete opposite of Monroe. They are way friendly and did an excellent job on my first service. I highly recommend them. I have also heard a lot of good thing about the Modesto Ducati, but they are a lot farther from me than Ace.
One of the salesman at Ace owns a hyper too. He was the one that told me about this forum and the larger gas tank available, which is the only improvement that I want on the hyper! Good luck!

I bought my 80's Duc jacket from them and I thought the person I spoke to on the phone was nice. They shipped it to me in NC with no trouble.

as mentioned above, you might also consider going to oregon ... the folks @ motocorse in portland are a great bunch ... give them a call and see what sort of pricing they can offer.
