Talking Picked up my new 796 today!

Just picked up my white hypermotard 796 today. This bike is an absolute blast! If i would have known about this a few years ago i would have never even conisdered a crotchrocket. (previous bike cbr600rr) The only complaint i have so far is its kinda a pain to get it into neutral from first like at a light. Does that get better as it gets broken in?

Having a ball Huh?

Probablly yes. if you mess a shift up ...go up and not down shift , just to be safe...
Being brand new I think all bikes behave a wee bit differently...
put it thru some heat cycles ...do some engine braking and try not to hit the rev limiter just yet....
Break her in sort of hard ,the engine that is ...new brakes be sort of gentle at first...
Beating a new Ducati is sort of like hitting your Gramma....
I don't think you can hurt it if you are reasonable with it...
You are breaking in the whole bike..
I like the white really stands out...
Be careful and ride safe ...saturday should be a fun day for you ....Did you sleep beside it???

Congrats! I got my new 796 on Tuesday. You're right about the shifting. I had a heck of a time getting it in to Neutral the other day. The dealer said it should smooth out by 2k, if not he suggested I bring it in and have them take a look. I guess there's some room for adjustment.

Damn, I thought about white but they didn't have any in the state so it would have cost extra! So I got red. Everyone knows Red is faster than white anyway ...
I'm coming from a cbr f4I to a Hyper and love it!

I've got 600+ miles on mine, and the gearbox has loosened up a little. Shifts feel easier to me anyway. The trick I have used to find neutral has been to half shift down from second, then slightly pull back up with your toe.

To reset your trip meter hold the "up" menu button for 3 seconds not the blinker cancel button like the manual says. That one got me.

The only issue I have had is my seat ripped in two places on the top forward right edge. I never would have noticed it because of where it is located but caught it when i was installing a battery tender connection When I brought it in for the 600 miles check I submitted a warranty claim and Ducati approved. So I have a new seat on the way.

All i have to say is enjoy it, i know i enojoy the hell outta mine!!

Congrats on the new ride. My buddy owns a cbr 600 and he always wants to switch rides. He loves the hyper. I know what you're going through, lots of fun.

Congrats! My shifting smoothed about after the first 100 miles. Now I can shift smoothly without using the clutch.

Hey congrats on your new Hyper.... I too came from a Triumph Daytona 675 and this hyper is a blast and more comfortable.

I noticed mine was hard to get neutral... I was told 600 miles and it would feel better... I am at 3000 miles in the first month and it's starting to feel better!
