I did recently post in the classifieds for a S rear wheel and pretty much got no answer...

Well I did get 2 answers in fact, a private message saying "maybe" but then never came back, and an offer for 550euro. By the time I would go for it, the seller took a step back.

Unlike the front forged wheel that you can take from a 1098S / R or even a StreetFighter S, the only bike with a rear 10 spoke forged alu that fit the Hyper is... the Hyper S.
I believe he will have way more visibility posting here than in the classified section.

But it's a long shot. You need to find a Hyper S owner who upgraded to magnesium or BST.

Is there a cross reference for what will fit a Hyper front and rear/with or without modification/materials/spokes/etc somewhere? That would be really cool. I have been looking for another set to be able to have a set of street tires on one and track tires on another but the cost is just stupid. I have seen some sets for other Ducs on ebay and thought maybe they would fit but I can't ever get anything definitive.

I don't really care if they are cast or forged or magnesium but I can't justify $2000+ for extra rims than another chunk of cash for front rotors...

Pretty much every front wheel will fit the HM. You just have to make sure it's a 5 bolts for the brake rotors.
HM Multi 1098 848 S4R S2R S4RS.

The rear wheel is a little bit different.
I could forget some options, but basically HM 848 S4RS

Standard and 848 wheel set usually go on ebay for a 1.000$, and I think it's the cheapest way to go if you want an extra set for the track.

Thanks for info. That does help. Do you know if there are some different rotors offsets depending on application for the front? I thought I read that somewhere but it may have to do with older models.

Most pre 2007 Ducati front wheels have 6 mounting holes for the brake rotors. 5 hole rotors are on these pre 2007 models: 999 and 749. Newer models with the 5 hole mounting seem much more common... M696, HM, 1098, 848, S4Rs, `07+ S4R.

Given how much change Ducati has been through lately, I wouldn't trust that parts interchange as easily as they did before.

The HM rear wheel seems to be the same as almost all non-1098 single sided rear wheels: 916/996/748/998, MTS, S2R, M1100, 848

Front wheel though, you've got to be careful of 2 variables... rotor offset and rotor mounting holes. Before the recent bikes HM, 1098, M1100, etc... almost ALL non 749/999 front wheels from 2000 on were interchangeable. All had 6 holes and 5mm offset. The 2 exceptions were the 748R and the 996Corse, which were 6 hole but had 10mm offset.

So before swapping out the HM's front wheel, you need to fond out the spacing between the rotors on the wheel itself...
