First track day
Just did my first track day yesterday out at buttonwillow on the Hyper. Had a blast. Love it. Can't wait to do it again. LOVE THIS BIKE and enjoyed battling it out with the inline 4's - gave more then a few a run for their money out of the corners
I've read a lot on this forum that this bike "isn't great" for the track. I'm no pro racer or anything and I still have much to learn, but first impressions are that this bike is a blast to ride on the track. Granted - when i fall - it will not be a cheap fix.
Cheers

I love my Hyper on the track too, even with the lousy front forks! Now I have an Ohlins 25 mm cartridge, I think I'll enjoy it even more.
You're right about giving them a running for the money out of the corners. And who cares about straightaway speed. I just did a round of California Superbike school using their S100RR (great bike btw) and people that I can walk faster than they corner could fly down the straights.
Twisting the right wrist is easy, its all about the corners and the Hyper is great in that environment.

Great to here it being used in anger and yeap twisties they are brill.
For the "fail" reason is why I now race my DR650, she ain't the quickest down the straights but come the twisties ya hold her open and disappoint the 1 liter HP riders.
I binned my DR at 80 km/her on a corner and apart from a few good grazes on the barkbusters and bent gear lever you wouldn't know, they crash well.
This is my old tub

I love this bike at the track. I put a set of Woodcraft's on it and dog the hell out of it at the track. Pretty sure if it was paid off I could be faster. We'll I know so. Always have that little devil on my shoulder telling me I don't really OWN it yet, while I'm on the track.
Sure, I get killed on the straights. That's not why I go to the track anyway. I can go straight on the interstate.
I do love to bust the ass of a sport-bike on a twisty track any day.

What do you think of the Woodcraft rearsets??
Are they too high for everyday street riding??
Still on topic as the Hyper has clearance issues on the track....

Actually I love them. I do trips from where I am in NC back home to Charleston SC at least once a month and have absolutely zero complaints about my rearsets. Other things yes. Woodcrafts, no. Worth every penny to me. It's a little over 200 miles each way. As far as around town they just make you act like a hooligan even more because you can lean over more without dragging anything. Not my thing but yes I have done it, before I found the track.
As far as the track, they are perfect.
I got mine from Brad at Superbike Supply and they were less than retail. Easy install. They are not cheap but you get what you pay for.
Brad and Mary are great people to deal with as well.
