Glove Compartment Toolkit holder?
I could see the tool kit just sitting on the bottom of the left gastank cover. So I took the glove compartment cover off and it looks like there should be a couple of rubber straps with rectangular rings to hold that sorryass toolkit in place. Is that what I'm missing and can I get something similar to it without going to the dealer? In the meantime, I tossed that microscopic toolkit inside the Ducati handlebar bag.

the stock toolkit fitment is poor ... they use two o-rings to strap it in place.
you are better off leaving the stock tool kit at home, and packing the micro tool kit in the handlebar bag.

Thanks JohnC. Where can I get those straps? I'm thinking I want to put a flat repair kit in the glove compartment.

ducati uses o-rings ... you can most likely get them @ your local ducati dealer ... or, @ a local hardware store that carries o-rings. take your flat repair kit in with you to get the correct size o-rings ... should be snug. and get extras, as they will break over time.

You can also use small 3" bungee cords you can get at auto parts stores.
Out!

When I got my bike home, I didn't have anything in there to hold the tool kit. I didn't feel likt going out, so I harvested some of those plastic-covered wire ties that are used to hold kids toys in the boxes.
I put those on and the tool kit has never moved since.
Just a thought.

That's a good idea too Dave. And Kid's toys is not too far off from what this joke of a tool kit is.

After cursing under my breath many of the toys my daughter gets and I have to open, which usually leaves my daughter scared of me, wondering why her toys make dad so mad. Damn who packs these things anyway? After un-tapping and untwisting fifty-eleven twist ties, I would be happy if Ducati had spent more than three cents on the holder for our tool kit.
Might as well just take the thing out and throw it down the road while in the car to get it over with.
