Crash Protection

Crash Protection

Ok, like I stated in my first post I have been trolling the forum for a few months and I have come up with the following ideas for same crash protection for the Hyper.

Front Axel Sliders: Cheap protection for the axle. Plus they look good.

Rear Sliders: Cheap protection for the axle and I can use my current pit bull stand on the spool type ends.

Frame Sliders: Hmm, after looking at the frame and engine mount method, I am going to shy away from these for the time being. Still researching.

Handle Bar: After looking at the bike and actually simulating a fall and crash, it looks like the bar area due to the width will take the most impact of a fall. So, perhaps some aftermarket bars and the Zeta style guards are in order. I am running them on my DRZ and they seem to hold up. I have seen the post about the deal from wheeling cycles, my question would be had any one has a tip over or crash running the Zeta style system? Just wondering if it is worth the hassle?

Let me know if I have overlooked any missing items that would add some protection to the bike. I don’t plan on testing any of the equipment but you never know and it pays to be prepared in the event a crash happens.

Don’t flame me too bad I am just trying to put information in one place. That reminds me we should start a how to section in the Hyper forum to show riders to do to mods rather that trying to search, that may help some on the newer members like myself.

Thanks

+1 on the aftermarket bars and especially "real" handguards. They do hold well. If you search a bit I posted about low siding with the Zeta bars/handguard and while the guard was ground up a bit, they did their job.
