Michelin Power Pure, any users?
I am not happy with the grip of the great price Pirelli Diablo's I currently have. I was thinking about a set of Diablo Rosso's or Corsa III's, but I saw an article about the new Michelin Power Pure. Is anybody running these and if so how do they compare. I can get a set for $229, so I am debating what to get and am leaning towards the Power Pure's.

So in search of the "perfect" street/track tire, I've tried Pirelli Corsa III's good but pricey, Bridgestones BTO16's good and low priced, Bridgestone 003's better and low priced, just ordered the Dunlop Q2's med priced to try, I hated the Michelin pilot power 2CT, but they did do a complete makeover, with new profile, larger area of the soft rubber, and "superlite" tire construction, called Power Pure 2CT, if they really lighter than any other tire out there, I may try the Michelins again. Aloha Alex

Are you a track fella or street?
For $229 a set... try them out, that's some cheap hoops!
Entertain us with your findings....

I like them, but I also liked the PP2CTs.
I tried the BT16s and all the Pirellis, still prefer the Michelins.

I haven't used the "Pure" yet but I did examine them in person. They are light, very light which has some benefits. The shape is quite a bit different from the Pirelli's. So the sensation you get when turning into a corner might be more pronounced than the Corsa lll's, more of an "on/off" as opposed to the consistent roll rate of the PC's.
I think I'm going to try them after my next set of Corsa's are done.

I am a street rider. I really only like to ride the mountains and spend as little time as possible on flat roads and streets.
I do plan to do a track day or two as soon as I put together the cash for a custom 1 piece suit due to my long torso nothing off the rack fits. I also just bought Woodcraft rearsets for more ground clearance and better position.
I think I will get a set and see how I like them, hopefully I can get more then the 1300 miles I got out of the Corsa III's rear tire, but they were great while they lasted. At a claimed 1 kg lighter a set they should make the suspension more compliant and turning lighter, though they could also squirm if the sidewall is not stiff enough.

Haha My torso seems to be increasing in the other direction, hard to get fitted.
I think they will suit your riding style really well, and worth a try for sure, from what I've heard about them.
+ you've got some good feedback here from the guys already running them.
For longevity it's always a sacrifice between grip and mileage. I'll take grip any day
Just bare in mind,, here down under, you can't even get a rear tire for what you fellaz pay for a set over there.
We're looking at between $450 - $550 for a set of the same damn hoops here
PS. I'm also interested in Alex's finding on the Dunflops Q2's because I just read an article they did testing them at the track down under, and they seem to have great grip + longevity.
