Shorter throttle throw
So I got used to riding using only the first 85% of my throttle while riding. This was fine with stock intake and exhaust, since the last 15% didn't add enough to justify the extended twist of the wrist. Well after installing exhaust, ecu, and ducstacks, that last 15% is where the sweetness is now. I was blown away when I throttled the front wheel up in 4th gear by accident.
So now I can't get enough of that, but the issue is that in order to get to that last 15%, I'm holding onto the throttle with my finger tips, and that's not really safe. Changing my grip at idle isn't really an option either since I ride with my fingers covering the brake. So I'm wondering if there is any way to shorten the 'throw' of the throttle. I don't mind if it increases the initial 'bite' as long as I can get to that last bit of the throttle easier. I looked at the G2 throttle, but it looks like they only make a tamer, and nothing that would make it more aggressive. Thoughts?

As I understand it, the Kyle Racing Throttle Tube does just what you are asking.

I know what you mean. By the time you're at WOT, there's a good bend in your wrist.Thought about trying to rotate the throttle housing forward but haven't got around to it.

Thanks, I'll take a look.

I don't think that would make any difference since it would have to move forward as I'm rotating the throttle back. Just moving it forward, I would still start with my wrist at resting point, and have to rotate the same amount to get to full throttle.

I've got aftermarket bars, so that's not an issue, but as I mentioned above, I don't think that would change anything anyways.

neil, neil, neil ... think about what you wrote rotating the throttle housing will not do anything to reduce the amount of twist needed to open the throttle ... you would need to rotate your grip on the throttle forward.
the better solution is:
http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/..._throttle_kits
motion pro does not list the hypertard specifically, but i will ask chris carter (the owner) if one of their other ducati specific kits will work. if not, as motion pro makes throttle cables, i know they can configure a kit with the proper cables fairly easily.

I don't know why, but it took me a while to figure out what a stupid statement I had made.

I thought it made sense, as long as you meant roll the lever forward with it. In that case, the OP could change his idle resting position, since he stated he covers the brake. It gets a little awkward though if you turn it too far.

Thanks, thinking of getting one. Much cheaper at $99 than the DP version where you also replace all the cables. Anyone use this on their Hyper?
