Dp ecu

So I'm still very new to the hyper. I want to make sure I'm doing everything right. I have Leo Vince slip ons already installed. I just bought a nib ecu off of eBay and a hi flow airbox cover. This should all work fine together right? Will I have to have a dealer reset the tps? Again sorry for the newb questions but I have to start learning somewhere. Thanks for any Info.

Thanks. I tried a search but obviously didn't really know what I was searching for. This will keep me busy reading for a bit.

HyperRyan I am with you.... just one straight answer would be awesome! I am a newb also and have gone over and over all the posts and more confused by too much information I think...

Hopefully somewhere in some thread you can match your question to an answer....

On the flip side I am learning alot about stuff.... tps, fueling, sync, throttle bodies, CO, trim (not the good stuff , etc.......

Good luck!

you newbe guys are on the right track!basically if you want it to run to its full potential and not be to rich or lean if your doing dp ecu also get power commander and dyno tuned for best results.and another good mod to go along with that is do away with airbox all together...and go ducshop pods or tpo stacks..they make the bike sound awesome and you wont be stripn the threads on that piece of poop stock filter box.jus do some more searching on past threads you will find tons of info on it...good luck!

Hey guys there is not one answer to your questions...
Some would advise against some of the let say more radical mods for reasons such as noise and the ability to put it back stock or nearstock for say resale or emmissions testing..
It all depends on a lot of factors as where you live and what you want or takes to be satisfied..
The air box has been stated as being part of the structural integrity of the frame , a small part of it I'll guess...
I like to be able to install and remove the Baffles for where and when I am riding , sometimes I don't want to arouse the neighbours in the wee hours of the morning ..as an example....
Do you want to spend huge $$$ for the wee amount of horsepower gain???
Or spend huge $$ for the small amount of weight reduction...

There is reasons why the factory has engineers and spends big $$$ on why they decided to go that way...Not saying that they are always right...
Hey also puy what year and model of bike you have so we can be more specific to your needed answers...
and the more specific the question the better the answers .Pics too help....
Get on that sucker and ride and get used to it so when you do the mods you will have a good base to work with...

1) That combo should run relatively fine.
2) Whenever you change the ECU you have to reset the TPS, at either the dealer's or at home with your own VDST software (I have and love).
3) Scott2 is correct, the variables are endless bike to bike. But you may be good out of the box, so see how it runs before buying other stuff (tho in a perfect world, every bike would have a map specific for that bike/location/etc.).
4) Enjoy the Hyper!

Thanks guys. I've had the bike for about a month (2008 base model). I got 600 miles the first week and then it started raining. It hasn't stopped since. I blame mother nature for me trying to figure out ways to spend all my money instead of just riding. Oh well I'm learning a lot and this site is so full of info it's intimidating. Thanks again.

The bikes run way too lean stock, and the DP ECU should be the firrst thing you buy. It will run cooler, smoother, and stronger even with the stock exhaust.

You don't need a Power Commander to get the bike to run right for the street, the DP ECU is fine. If your intent on getting every last HP out of it then yes but its not needed for the street. It will not be perfecrt but it will be much better than stock and you will not notice any problems. PCs just add complexity and have been known to fail.

The LV is a nice, quality exhaust with good sound, power, fit and finnish.
Also get the LV cat eliminator to save a few more lbs and get rid of more heat..
