hm upright shock

I'm glad I had my suspension sorted at Maxton this winter, I guess it stopped me from having a nasty off today.

Brain out of gear, wet and cold, on the A5 out of Shrewsbury, out with the IAM all hi viz and ducks in a row, i pull out and nail it in third or fourth.... the step in the kyle throttle kicks in and the torque plus the quick spin up from the nichols flywheel, plus a really worn mid section on the corsa three (booked in to replace next week) and whoops the back wheel spins up at about 90 mph and I have a big side to side alongside a truck. I think ohh hello tarmac, hello armco, goodbye world..and lo and behold light grip on bars, the steering flicks a couple of times and self centres and i carry on my merry way....much chastened

Iam ers say er un iam like things...and I shamefully resign my senior observer status :-)

Wow Karl that was a close one!!

I'm glad you made it OK. If nothing else it's a lesson learned. At least it wasn't learned the hard way.

Glad your OK man.

..but this is riding hey?

If your rear is worn from commuting then get on it, sooner than later.
Your brains could have been mashed potato under that semi, and the driver would'nt have blinked an eye.
That's like running over a water mellon to him

Good idea to let the bike settle underneath, and not panic with a monkey grip.

Still... on the road, ride within the limits of....

Edit: You think is was the rear shock that helped?

No I think the new cartridges in the forks were the key item here...they just kicked a bit and came back to centre

Haha... I hope that I wouldn't be the only one to misinterpret the substance of a thread when the title is "hm upright shock" and think you would be talking about the rear shock!
So the word 'shock' in the title pertains to 'fright' or 'scare' correct? Help me out here riddler...
