Aftermarket gas tank void moto factory warranty?

HI all,

Quick question - I was thinking about buying a hyper but would most definatly get the Ca Cycleworks 6+gallon fuel tank installed. Would this void the 2yr factory warranty on the bike? For instance, lets say I get the big tank in there, and 1 year into the warranty period and the engine breaks down. Being that you have to remove the airbox along with other mods I would think Ducati would give one the runaround if something went wrong???

If they can show the modifications are what caused the failure they can void the warranty, but they have to be able to show it was the cause. Most Ducati dealers are as into modifying the bikes as the customers so I wouldn't worry about it.

If they find out you have an aftermarket tank DNA will do anything not to cover you, trust me!, they voided my warranty bc I took off an exhaust hanger bolt off my SFS, the tab on the frame wasn't even welded but they managed to shaft me anyway!. Any Ducati I have or will have, I consider them out of warranty from the getgo, it saves a lot of stress.
Just work out a good relationship with your dealer, that will help a lot more in case of a problem.....$.02!
