`08 Hypers are easy to find....
I was searching Craigslist for used hypers and 75% of the 16 pages were `08's.
If someone wants a good deal on an `08, they should have some good bargaining power. With that said the `09 & `10's should hold more value as they seem a bit harder to find used.
I'm hoping to be able to pick up one in the near future, and really like the improvements for 2010.
I'm thinking a used one with some upgraded goodies will be the way to go.

I used to think buying an already upgraded one was the way to go too.
When I found my '08 "S", it had 43 original miles on it and I paid $9500. It was bone stock but it was essentially a brand new bike for $5000 less than sticker.
I have had the MOST fun adding accessories to this bike than I ever had with any of my others.
I'm glad I found a stock one....

I agree, upgrading & doing mods can be allot of fun. I really enjoy spinning wrenches, but it would be hard to overlook the savings on an modified bike.
But in your case it sounds like you had best of both worlds!

When I was looking for my 08 4 mos ago, I could not find ANY close to Colorado. When mine came up in CL, I wasted no time.....probably paid $500 more than I should have but the PO had a Rockster graphic wrap applied and was justifying the higher price due to that.
Like my last Duc, it will be around for quite a while so the $500 I paid does not bother me. I'm at 3k now so time for some tire for summer!

I got my '08 for a pretty good deal brand new and I'll never sell it.

Im looking for one myself..
..but the ones Im finding havnt any service records. Thats what scares me. My previous 2 Ducks have been 748's that needed an immediate $1K belt job and Im not getting into that again. Pity, there are a couple local and a really nice one on CL Chattanooga that Id buy right now if it werent for lacking service.

Ducati thought they were going to sell a lot of 08s. They made a lot of them, too many and dumped them in the market. They didn't sell well, so there were too many left overs. That is why the prices of the 08s are cheaper. In 09 they didn't make as many, they learned from 08.
