CRG RC Sprectrum Levers Installed

Hey all.

Finally got my CRG RC Sprectrum Levers (Shorties) yesterday, and after 15min install, there on.
Pretty easy job with no modifications needed.
They fit really well with no slop what so ever and I really enjoy riding with them, they look and feel great.
Real high quality product.
Here's some pics.

Questions for Tard/ anyone who's changed levers on a Hyper:

i. Is there any advantage to these levers over the standard/ stock ones, are they more adjustable, better quality pull etc, or are they all about looks if you've removed the handguards really (which I fully understand)

ii. Are they shorter or the same length as the standard ones, and will they fit under the OEM handguards? Why go shorter; surely that's asking for trouble? i.e. for your fingers to miss or something

Sorry, I genuinely don't know anything about changing levers, so please enlighten me.

There are several advantages over the stock levers.

More reach adjustment for sure, and a hell of a lot easier to do it.
Try adjusting the stockers on the fly is almost impossible with gloves on, and the stock dial doesn't really do much anyway in comparison to roller cams.

They feel a lot former as well, as in they don't wobble up and down like the stockers which gives you a nicer feel.

The angle of the bend in the CRG's actually reduces effort required to pull. So even though they are shorter they have a lot more leverage.

The clutch lever effort feels the soft as butter now and I only ever use 2 fingers for shifting, and 3 for starts. I was doing this with the stocker and kept crushing the fingers I had left on the bar when shifting.
This is where the shorties are great because it allows you to have 1 or 2 fingers left on the bar when shifting which gives you more grip on the bar, especially went leaned over.

With the brake you only really use 1 or 2 fingers, if I feel the need to use 3 in an emergency stop, I still can. (Wouldn't try that with the monoblocs though).
Because of the angle of the lever, you actually can apply more pressure with less effort, so braking 'feel' has improved a lot.

So there's heaps of 'real' benefits and they look great too.

These shorties are about an inch shorter than the stockers so wether they fit the standard hand guards I don't know. Length wise it wouldn't be problem but they do protrude further forward.

Looks really good Tard!

I ordered the CRG levers as well, but screwed up and ordered the regular length ones instead of the shorties. After seeing your pics I am even more pissed I did not get the shorties!

I am not a big fan of changing the levers out but those do look good. What is the price "US $" for the set of shorties?

Yeah but you'll still really notice the benefits of having descent levers fitted.

If you get the chance to change out your stockies for some CRG's, I reckon you'll be a fan in no time

I got my set through motovationusa, they're a sponsor here, $175.95 - http://www.motovationusa.com/mvstore...?idproduct=639
