55 miles fuel light comes on, problem?
maybe its because its new to me, maybe it because i was railing on it, but i was expecting at least 100 miles on the tank. is 55 miles normal for the fuel light to come on if your riding the bike the way it should be?

There have been numerous posts on this issue and the general conclusion is that your mileage will depend on your mods, throttle application and/or trip meter issue.
The best I managed to do with just the Termi 2-1, steady state 75-80mph riding, I managed to get 45mpg. Others have posted up to 48mpg.
55 seems low but if you have lots of mods and were really twisting the shit out of the bike, I would not be suprised.

Sounds like something is wrong. I'm running a full exhaust, ducstacks, and DP ecu, and I get at least 80 miles from a tank. And I ride exclusively on twisty mountains twisting the loud stick like it's my job. Does it smell funny after a ride? Does the power seem ok?

Ditto. Full exhaust, dp cams ecu (18% more fuel), and Tpo beast"r" stacks. I get 80 till fuel light. I wheelie off every stoplight.

With Ducshop stacks, Zard exhaust line and Termi 2-2 (and the 2-2 DP ECU), I usually do : - between 62 and 68 miles in the city before the light goes on. (100-110km)
- between 93 and 100 miles on fun rides in VT and upstate NY. (150 - 160 km)

Hey trippin,
As far as I know, your bike is brand new isn't it?
I think you'll find fuel economy will improve as the engine loosens up.
New engines, especially big bore twins, suck it down quite a bit when they're fresh.

Fill it up and see what goes in. Probably calibrated wrong. I had a triumph Tiger several years ago and ran out of gas 2 blocks after the low fuel light came on.

maybe your not filling it up all the way, do you fill it while on side stand? I fill mine while sitting on it and rocking it front to back to burp it. I have gotten anywhere from 110 miles to 70ish miles before the light comes on, running stock engine with slipper and fatduck (I had a cored exhaust but didnt like it)

I've had my 2010 Evo for 3 weeks now and can't find time to ride it. Consider yourself lucky that you got to see a low fuel light.
Now that I have let my anger out , is this the first tank from the dealership? They never really fill them up. Usually they put the gas handle in, and when it clicks the first time its done. If they filled it while it was on the side stand, they probably got even less in the tank.
When I fill up my bikes, I stop, put the kick stand down, unlock the cap, put the credit/debit card in the card reader, take the cap off, lift the handle, fill it to the lower portion of the ring (or higher) of the filler all while seated on the bike. That way I get the most in I can get. I have been filling my bikes like this for years. It might seem trivial but bikes just don't normally hold a lot of fuel (my old BMW used to hold 6.6 gallons OUCH!), so I want every drop I can get in them. Hope this helps.
