belly pan / cowl install, w /pics

Lots of overdue work from the office and being behind on family obligations created a situation where I chucked it all aside, and spent a couple of quality hours in the garage.

While the price was a fairly reasonable 109 euros, the shipping was a bit of a shocker. I swallowed hard, and ordered, anyway. The belly pan came in gray, so I ordered some "Hypermotard paint" from colorrite.com. It matched OK, but I probably should have done 2 more coats and some polishing to get the same gloss, but it looks OK. Install was simple. 4 clips were included, but one had to improvise on the hardware. I have not road tested it yet, and I am a little concerned about the finish, so close to the exhaust, but I think it kinda completes the bike, making it look slightly less naked.

Vendor page for part is here

looks good ...for the heat problem being close to the exhaust you can try some adhesive heat barrier by cool it products thats what i did for my carbon lower cowl and it works great.

Hmmm, I don't know if it's working for me.
It's definitely changed the look of the bike but don't know if it's in a good way.
Maybe it's too red, and black may have been a better colour for the pan? Don't know.
Just my opinion.

I like it! It complements the beak, in a way.

I liked it on my FZ1, but not so much on the Hyper. I think the best thing about the Hyper is the lack of extra stuff that makes other bikes look bulky or covers up the gizmoness.

What matters is you like it. Have fun with the new goods.

Out!

LOL !
That is the next project. The Aprilia mirrors were an awesome improvement, and I got the idea from this forum. I have simply been too lazy to remove the factory folding ones. I am thinking a new bar, along with some nice chrome Rizoma reservoirs. For now, the folding mirrors are a nice gas station conversation starter.

And yes, I was trying to "mirror" the red beak, thus the red paint. The shifter side is much less obvious, with the cowl extending a much shorter distance.
