New Mirrors and Turn Signal Relocation

Hey all.

I've been wanting to change the bars, remove the hand guards, relocate the turn signals, and fit new mirrors ever since I got my hyper a couple of months ago.

Because the jury is still out concerning wether I should drill the new bars or dremel off the locating pins on switch and throttle housings (see this thread - Handlebar Change), I decided to at least remove the hand guards, relocate the signals and fit new mirrors to the stock bars to see what it looks like.

My reasoning is I personally dont like the hand guard set up and the mirrors make lane splitting at traffic lights like trying to fit elephants ears through a key hole!

I got some $10 LED signals off ebay and I've chosen the Rizoma Reverse Retro mirrors and Bar End Siders.
Really don't know what there going to look like.

Here's the run down:

Locate and cut wiring, remove stock hand guards, fit 'bullet type' connectors to wires.

Fabricate new turn signal brackets.

Drill holes in headlight shroud and attach brackets with signals to bike and plug them in.

Fit new mirrors and bar end sliders and check out ya work!

Let me know your thoughts
I'm not completely sure the mirrors work, but the turn signals look great I reckon.

Don't drill your new bars as the holes in the stock bars are the weak point that everyone is trying to eliminate by buying new bars.

Also, the pins on the controls are metal and the controls are plastic, this should tell you something. What it should tell you is that the pins will just PULL OUT of the plastic housing so there is no need to dremel anything. Just grap ahold of them suckers with some vicegrips and pull.

I already did mine as I can't stand having my controls up so high, it causes arm-pump and fatigue.

Nice setup, it looks good. Especially the turn signals.

Nice setup Tard. I think the mirrors look like a bull, in a good way.

Thanks Dave, I might have a little pull later today

Thanks NYSport, I see what you mean, does look a little horny.
May look a little better with narrower bars which is my ultimate goal as well.

So I wasn't entirely happy with the bull horn looking Rizoma bar ends, and I've come up with this mickey mouse alternative...
I've replaced my $200+ Rizomas with some $20 ebay shitterz.
Not entirely fulfilled, but it's different, and news for the day in my land.
Here's the pics.

They actually fit quite well.
After trying them on the bar ends like real 'flick in lane splitters' they looked like shit, like most do, IMO.
So I decided to try another mounting point next to the lever perches.

After a quick test spurt they hold up pretty good.
I can see straight under my armpits, and this scenario keeps the bike narrow.

Still haven't got around to doing the actual bars yet, so I'm still running the stockers.
But I reckon getting the mirrors right is the hard part...

How about these things from CRG. They're sort of similar in shape to the stock mirrors.
