Can I get some input on a price for a new 08?
A local dealer has a brand new (non S) left-over 2008 on the floor, and they're asking $10k. What do you guys think would be a fair price to offer? NADA lists average retail at $8140, and KBB has it at $8240. My initial thought was to offer $9k OTD, but I don't want to be completely out of line. Any suggestions would be most welcome. (It's hard to get a read from current used prices as it doesn't seem that anything is selling...)

Cool. Thanks! That definitely gives me a good reference point. MSRP is $14,995 for the S and $11,995 for the base model, right?

$10K new with warranty ain't bad. I would offer $9K and take it at $9.5K. That should have been the price of the bike in the first place and they wouldn't have any left over. Best $10K you will ever spend.
Out!

In October, my Black "S" cost me $9500 with only 43 miles on it.

Thanks, guys! Please keep the numbers coming. Are the prices you guys mentioning out the door, or before tax/prep/fees? From what you guys have shared, my thought is that $9,000 to $9500 out the door would be fair, which would put the cost of the bike in the low to mid 8s (depending on fees).
I know buying a new bike means taking a hit on depreciation as soon as you leave the shop, but I'd hate to drop $10k+ on a bike that will only be worth $8100 to the insurance company as soon as I hand over the check for the bike. I haven't spoken to anyone at the shop about it yet, so this might all be wishful thinking...
