If you don't want to get in trouble....
I just came back from the dealer, and I saw the evo SP....... shall I say more?
it was a mistake... I shouldn't have..... I thought I was going to look at the Multi... couldn't even take my tongue euuuh I mean eyes of the SP!!! why? WHY!?!?
Now I am in trouble!!! someone was asking in another thread if he would replace his barely used 09 with the SP, I told him he could use the money to personalize his bike and be unique, well I hadn't seen the SP live yet!! now we are in the same boat!!!
The forks alone are like ....
Oh yeah avoid seeing one live...

First impressions are never nothing to go by when purchasing a new ride.
Those glorious forks you mention are nothing more than a glorified rendition of the same Marzshockings the Hyper has always been dealt.
Where the f*ck re the Ohlins or the Showas the Hyper deserves?
If I had to choose I'd get the MS12... at least it incorporates a lot of new technology from Ducati, instead of rehashed sh*t hyper owners already have reach deep into their pockets to fix!

yeah I get your point and maybe you are right but still the bike looks much better that the regular HM, we still have to get a real review and comparaison about how it rides... but it still looks sick .. did I say this already?

Lovely is it looks in the glossies I back Tard 100%, for an SP (evo) I would be expecting something quite spectacular.
In essence it it is a newly stickered taller bike with same crap fitout, maybe a few my hp ... big deal!! .. hp does not make it handle well and go around corners fast.
I have jumped ship after my seemingly endless trouble, now equipped with fully adjustable ready to race suspension that actually works and more grunt than the Hyperturd out of the box .... h o p e f u l l y it will do more than 12000 km before dissolving!!!
My answer to this,

KTM sure does make quite a few models that have piqued my interest and enticed me into the showroom (exc, SDR, SMR, RC8, 125SM and electric dirt bike) but their styling and extensive use of graphics/colors really seems to put me off.
The all matte black SDR990 is the lone exception as it seems to tone down all the straight angles on the body work.

I have to admit I am not one for the Japanese style of flashy graphics and some KTMs are not far off, I have to say I do like the 990 SMR graphics and in direct comparison to the white evo SP it is comparable with lines and arrow/pointy/directional kinda thing going on.
For me, I heard a saying not too long ago "KTM is the ugly sister without the diseases".
I think the 990 SMR looks groovy but don't take too much to other models and graphics, I hope she will do at least 12000 km cos I am sickl of bike with terminal diseases!
Go to the white bike photos to the right as a comparo

I recently attended the KTM Demo Days and got to ride most of the SM fleet. The KTM 990 SMR is freakin' sick! It was going to be my next bike but I couldn't pass up a used 08 HMY1100 w/ 1200 miles for $7000 USD. I'll be keeping my Duke2 just because KTMs are that fun to ride.

Nice choice Montsaman.
If had the $$$ I'd easily drop $22K (AUD) on the 990SMR before buying the new Hyper.
I've test ridden the standard 990SM and those WP units front and rear are absolutely superb on that bike. What the hyper offers is shit in comparison.
I have WP on my Hussy supermoto also, and I reckon they're equal to ohlins they're that damn good!
Plus on the 990 you get a larger fuel tank, more HP, just as good Brembo's and although the 990 is heavier, you don't really notice it when your hooking along.
That engine has come a long way too since it's humble 950 beginnings so it should be very reliable and it absolutely rips with grunt. It'll be even better with a descent exhaust.
Keep us updated on the long term if you can.

I'd love to try a KTM but unfortunatly we still don't have a dealer in Lebanon, the only bike I've seen is at the Ducati dealership , it is a SuperDuke, with less than 1000KM on it and the price tag is very high...

In New Zealand it is the reverse a Hypertard S is $28000.00, the 990 SMR is $24500.00 and undoubtedly the KTM presents the better buy both specification wise and price wise.
The looks are subjective in both, I love the look of the SMR in white, prefer SSS but not a biggy.
