Good Hyper, excellent mpg!
I finally managed to carve out enough time to run the Hyper over to Louisville for new fluids and a check over. My twisty bit of fun riding through the Hoosier National Forest was interrupted by a road closer right in the middle so I spent most of the time on the super slab running 75-80mph.
Hyper put up 45mpg for the run over. 110 miles, no reserve light and 2.5g on fill up. I thought my trip light was not functioning as I had never made the trip without filling up before. That was a nice surprise.
Racing seat was improved over stock seat and Ducati Design pegs (up and back) helped with knee pain that I experienced before.
Cams, light flywheel and stacks are going in and I hope to have the Hyper back this weekend. So wanted to do Pistals and porting but that will have to wait for next year.

Well, I picked up my Hyper from Commonwealth yesterday. Those guys sure do a good job.
Hyper now has cams, stacks and lighter flywheel and my only riding was the 100 miles back home, mostly on the superslab.
Stacks are a lot louder under acceleration but no noticeable difference in noise at steady constant speed. Jury is out whether its a good or bad sound. Part of me likes hearing the sound and part of me still gets freaked out at the sound. I will just have to adjust.
Bike definitely picks up speed faster and feels more powerful. This part I like. Bike feels more like a dirt bike where throttle twisting has an immediate response. Downside is that the motor seems annoyed running a gear high and doesn't like to be lugged as much. When doing so, I get a lot of vibration in the handle bars. Anyone else that has done the flywheel have similiar issues?
I haven't checked the mileage yet and I am anxious to see what I did to the fuel economy.

I am also waiting to hear your mpg report as I am seriously considering the stacks.

Why the f*ck does anyone purchase a big bore twin, that only has a 12L tank, and then mods it, and then gets concerned about fuel economy?
It's never going to be in the league of 'average' bikes.
It's a HYPER! Hence the name...
The Hyper is extreme, therefore fuel economy is extreme given it's capacity...
Sheesh.
You may need a Kwaka Versys

So what's extreme for you? Going around the block and running out of gas? Mpg concerns for me are not economical concerns, they are all about range.

OK eezzy. Range? WTF?...
The hyper has little of it in stock form.
It's not a touring bike... and I at least expect to get a couple of blocks before she starts counting down!
Seriously though... all I'm saying is if you bought the bike for its 'range', then your missing the point!
Especially when you start adding modifications.

What are you some kind of an opinion nazi? I think 110 mile range is lame in any motorcycle that is not a track bike. I'm not missing any points, if you don't get what we're discussing stay out of it. Are you a girl?

What would that have to do with anything?
It's common knowledge the Hyper has a limited fuel range.
If this is such a concern for you then why buy the bike and then start bitching about it's range? That's the point!
If you want the stacks I suggest buying this kit.
The stacks come with a big black plastic thingy which may help fuel range

Did either of you stop for a second to realize that you can paint a stock tank or the new one from CCW?
Out!
