Occasional EOBD light, wth??
Greetings. Long time lurker, 2nd time poster. Searched numerous pages looking for an answer to this pickle-Go to start bike after work & EOBD light shows up preventing start. Go on & off a few times w/key & after 2-3 times light goes out & bike starts up fine. No error code, no running issues. Happened again following day, EOBD light, 2-3 times on & off w/key, light clears, bike starts & runs fine. Again no error code is displayed. Day later, just went outside & no light, wtf???
I had did quite a few searches & this is the only relevant thread I could come up with. Doesn't appear to be a key issue though. Any ideas?
Mucho grassy ass.

as with a lot of electrical problems/issues ... first check the simple things ... check the tightness of the battery leads.
i experienced this same problem on my hypertard ... sure enough, the battery leads were a little loose ... tightend them up snug, and no more issue.
worth a check, as it's really easy to get to them.
if the battery terminal leads are snug, next easiest weak point in the electrical system to check: the ground strap on the left side of the motor.
ciao,

Mine does it about once a week, it will take some time for the dash lights to go out, and the ECL (engine check light) will stay on, but it will start. Something about cycling the flapper valve when the key turns to on. Or error in the security code from the key, will not start. I cycle the key again.

Thank you gentlemen. I'll def check the battery leads & go from there. I was just a little worried about riding it when I couldn't find an error code that never existed.

mine does the same thing, if I try to start it too quickly after turning the key on I get an CEL.
I also believe it to be exhaust flapper related, needs time to cycle fully before trying to start.
