The rattle
Just wanted to say ...every time I've ridden this crap of a bike...I've lost screws - from the brake canisters to the carbon pannels around the exhaust
the seat screw... & this is just mentioning a few
but yesterday was the last straw ....the bolt that holds the side stand fell off
Should have spent my money on a Jap...atleast the darn thing stays together during a ride..
Piece of "rattly" $hit

It's always best to check fasteners, especially critcal ones like sidestand bolts, when you take delivery of any new/new to you bike. Did you have the TB's checked/synced? If the bike is new, the motor gets smoother as it lossens up. But posting here that the bike is a piece of crap and you should have bought Japanese before checking the fasteners or the TB sync without also includng anything else you may have done to remedy the situation does in fact quailfy you as a good candidate for Japanese bike owner since you show such little insight as to what the causes/remedies might be, and little if any ablity to turn even the most basic of wrenches. Or if you have actually done something to address the issue, like checking all fasteners and having the TB's synced, why carry on like a pissy whiner instead of asking for feedback/help if those steps haven't remedied the situation? Maybe you weren't ready for Ducati ownership when you bought and now any little niggle will be blown out of proportion to feed if not justfy your anxt?
When the shifter linkage on my Japanese bike fell off while idling at a stop light, I didn't call the bike a piece of shit, I refitted it to proper torques spec, and checked on it regular basis therefater along with other fasteners because it vibrated so badly even when properly dialled in. So really, what's the issue here, the bike, or your attitude?

Your totally right, I'll give you $500 sight unseen.
But seriously, sounds like the person who assembled it didn't tighten things up properly or someone couldn't understand using those silly broken washers under the bolts. .
I'd use blue Loctite (service removable) on just about every thing, problem solved-before it's a problem.

Let's see if we got this right. 1100cc twin, nice low end power, and it vibrates! WTF? I never would have thought that was going to happen.
Go get this. The medium blue works best,
http://www.loctiteproducts.com/
Then you can shut up and ride the bike.

Hahahahah blue n red Loctite...come on guys - that what I should do with a new thru under 3500 mile bike.
I've ridden my fair share of bikes maybe not as much as some dudes on this board but trust me never have I ridden or purchased a bike that would loose bolts n nuts on EVERY ride.
Maybe I was out of line with the "jap" comment but before I have to start loctighting side stand n engine n who knows what else after every ride ....it's a message & has the tendancy of pissing the owner off.
then again some of you guys clearly have more time ..."(posting on boards n loctighting) rather than ride...so i conceit defeat.
Thanks
Stryder...u know me real well...my mech skills , my attitude, everything...

Just install a "lightened" BALANCED crankshaft like mine, and turn your bike into a "sewing machine," it'll be sooooo smoooooth that the only thing the will come off the bike is the rubber on the tires.... Aloha Alex

You have the right to complain about anything................you paid for it. I have lost a few myself and I have laid many a wrench to this bike and plenty of bikes before. In fact, when doing some install work I have pulled bolts that have so much red loctite on them and it wasn't even in the location where the threads mate. Moreover, alot of the fasteners are third rate shit likely pulled off the assembly line in a Chinese toy manufacturing facility. The fact of the matter is, that the quality control isn't this bikes hallmark. Oh well, its fun to run down to Ace Hardware anyway. They got some many cool bolts, I buy them just in case...............or more likely because it will be the case.
I find that if you add a drop of 20W50W oil to each bolt and use a cheater bar, they torque up just fine......................wait a minute this is now becoming an oil thread and those aren't allowed either.
Out!
