Ducshop stacks-Dead spot?
I recently installed the ducstacks, and finally the weather cleared up enough to test them out. I am honestly surprised at how loud they are at wot. I LOVE it. I can't tell how much HP I gained since I'm riding wot almost all the time now since it sounds so good. But I'm pretty sure it's a significant increase. I did notice something odd today though. It seems like at the loudest point, there seems to be a bit of a dead spot in the power band. Is this normal? Will I need to get a PC to tune it out? Should I just deal with it? Thanks. Btw, here's my system for reference:
Ducstacks
Termi dual slipon
leo vince cat elim
Termi ecu (pretty sure it's an exhaust ecu, as opposed to the cam ecu)

I just installed the stacks, never heard anyone mention a dead spot. I'm waiting for a spacer for an EVR clutch before I can ride but I'll check it out. About what gear/rpm is the dead spot?

I have the same setup except for a leo Vince system instead of the Termis. I notice no dead spot. Also, the dyno curve posted by Ducshop did not show anything, and they used a DP ECU as well. I can feel a noticable gain from the mid on up, basically where the stock airbox/filter starts to become a choke point. The bike pulls real hard and definately gets up to speed quicker. Perhaps you feel the power roll off a bit higher than before, and it seems more pronounced because of all the gains before. Just a thought.

Yeah, it's kind of hard to explain. It's not quite a dead spot as in the power goes away completely. It's more like for about 200 rpms (I would say around 3.5k in 2nd gear is most noticeable) the power seems to dip maybe 2-3 hp. I notice it the most when I'm cruising in that RPM range, and then open up quickly.

I understand you love the stacks, and drawbacks with that set up?

Drawbacks? None really if you can live with the added intake noise, have a DP ECU and can adjust fuel trim or have it dyno tuned with a Power Commander/rapid bike module. You'll get more hp/torque across the board.

Btw, just to update- It seems like everything has smoothed out. Maybe I was just not used to the noise ower ratio, or maybe I had some bad gas, i dunno. But it's running like a champ now. Highly recommended mod!
