Fork slider marks

I was dicking around with the Hyper today, cleaning adjusting the chain and so on and noticed these marks on the fork sliders, one fork had a kind of vertical scratch and other other had this mark part way down that looked like the seals had been abrading. Difficult to describe without photo.

Anyway neither would come off with fingernail scratching, which seemed ominous. But as soon as I gave them a wipe with a tissue with some 100% alcohol it all came off and the forks looked like new.

Use seal lubricant to minimize the erosion of the forks dust and oil seals. I believe that these 2 components are leaving the trail on the hard chrome surface.
