law nazis @ work again in the eu ...

perhaps not news to some ... but a fairly comprehensive list of the laws and regulations being worked on in the eu ... wonder how long it will be before the slimeball politicos here in the us of a start doing the same?

I'm french and I owed several bikes in France over 100hp, and well, like every single french rider, I didnt give a damn about the law and had a full power engine.

In case of a police control, as they dont cary a dyno with them, they give you a 48 to 72h notice and you have to show up with your bike for a run on the dyno, way enough time to reset your engine under the 100hp limit (which is 106hp in France)

The only time this law can hit you hard is if you get into a bad accident, where you most likely end up spending couple days at the hospital while your insurance is realizing that your bike is over 100hp... yeah well in this case you can start selling a kidney.

Scary stuff. We need to stick together and push rider education. Also people need to stop their squidly behavior or that will be happing here. Their already cracking down on exhausts.

A proposed 100HP restriction would be totally pointless. I'm surprised this law is actually even in place in some parts of the world.

Motorcycle accidents are caused by rider error and f*cking inattentive, incoherent, incapable drivers of cars.
I've been messed up pretty bad on 2 occasions in my 25 year riding history by f*cking stupid drivers and on each occasion I was on a 60hp bike.

Plus, if speed is a contributing factor in a motorcycle accident is that the fault of the bike hp or the rider?
Weather you have 100hp or 170hp between your legs makes know real difference because they are both capable of undoing you.
If your riding stupid on the road it's not going to matter the HP of the bike your on, irresponsible riding, is irresponsible riding.

As Raiden mentions the EU need to look into rider education, but in saying that, there's not much you can do to extract the squidly nature out of some riders, and a squid's a squid, no matter what amount of HP they're on.
Some driver awareness of motorcycles campaigns probably wouldn't go astray either!

Maybe the EU should be more so looking into their speed limits which in some areas over there are ridiculous, and create an environment where lethal accidents are inevitable.

A proposed 100HP restriction

well i'm married to a full blown politician deputy mayor of our city till resently

This the secret to turning they direction

Complaining on or to media - worthless
Signing a partitions -worthless
Protesting out side office -worthless

this is what u do

form a lobby group the bigger the better , ask for a meeting to discuss the issue

NOW if they don't meet your demand or bullshit you

inform them that your lobby group will now gather more members and
stand in front of there polling booths everywhere and actively shit can you to all incomers with posters, TXT, news papers , and how to vote

This alone scares the sh!t out of them

THIS WILL WORK

haha, you have no idea how complicated and expensive it is, to get
a bike license in especially germany.
you have to ride ~30 hours in front of the driving school guy in his car,
until you are ready for the actual test, with some ~20 theory hours to boot,
all in all, you can estimate some ~2000 Euros for that bike license.

another haha from full speed country, the open Autobahn isn't the
problem for sure, not for the bike related accidents.

Ridiculously low, like in the Nordic countries, yes.

Mandatory European rider education as FAR better the the virtually non-existant mandatory rider education in the US. It is expensive and difficult to pass a driving test in Europe.

Thank God WE're not in the EU (yet).

Au contraire mon frere! The point would be it gives bureaucrats something to do, and grants them more control over the masses that need to be protected from themselves. Also, I am sure it really pisses off the Po-Po to try and pull a bike over that just wheelies away at triple digits (like ghost rider), taunting them. But most importantly it will raise the resale value of the Hyper up, and you can mod it to your hearts content without really worrying about breaking the law. If you can afford to break 100HP on the hyper, you can afford to pay the fines.

Yeah, seriously though this is scary that we allow this shit to happen government by the people for the people eh? It really is just control and power grabbing. This is what happens when sheep think taking protection offered from a Sheppard is a good idea. Those of us that prefer to take care of ourselves and look out for each other don't have an option and unfortunately now we are all trapped behind the fence getting our wool trimmed to profit the Sheppard in exchange for what again? Oh yeah, protection from being able to taste the the sweet clover in those beautiful alpine meadows. After all there is the possibility you could slip off the cliff, and the view from inside the fence is better... for the Sheppard. baaaaahaaahaaahaahaa
