Seat options for Hyper?
I hate to say it but my elbows hurt me so much lately that I think I'm going to have to get rid of my StreetFighter and buy a Hyper. Last year I had my KTM in for a problem and the Duc dealership gave me a Hyper take home. WOW that was a fun bike, especially when I unexpectedly was on the rear wheel in 2nd gear.
I contacted the Duc dealership Saturday and told them I would take a new Hyper when one came in.
So here is my question. When I took the Hyper home I noticed the stock seat lacked much comfort and I was told the DP racing seat was the way to go. I normally ride 300 mile days (when I get a chance to ride) and need something semi comfortable.
1) Has anybody tried the racing seat and is it taller than stock?
2) Has anybody tried a Sargent Cycle or Corbin seat?

Thank you. I didn't know they had a comfort seat coming out. I looked at my dealers website yesterday and didn't see one but I knew they just released one for my StreetFighter.

I have the comfort seat on my Hyper and did a 400 mile weekend trip on it this past weekend. You still get hot spots on your backside with it, but not nearly as quickly or bad as the stock seat. Also, if you're on twisty roads where you're moving around on the bike more it's not too bad. I did have to drone on the freeway for a stretch and just sitting there was a PITA, literally. I'm considering have Rick Mayer build a custom saddle for it. He's built the ones on my last 5 BMWs and I can put in 800-900 mile days on his saddles with no pain or issues. Not that I'm shooting for a 900 mile day on the 'Tard.

i have had comfort seat and race seat and got rid of both the race seat was good for about 30 min which was better than stock...and i think the race seat is still lower than stock.then i traded for comfort seat which was pretty decent still got numb legs after awhile.then finally i had a custom sargent made which i had dished and lowered as much as possible..and the dished part narrowed as much as possible and that was the ticket now i can ride for a 100 miles or more with no issues yhe only reason i have to stop is for fuel...lol oh yea they also installed the low density foam which makes a big difference.it a boils down to what you like and your body type some seats work for one person and not the other, but i tried all 3 and those are my 2cents.good luck!

I noticed a lot of bike manufacturers seem to think that "gel" is a cure all. I have learned over my years of riding that if a seat "fits" you "even if it is made out of steel", you can ride all day in comfort.
I had a mustang saddle on my Harley back years ago. It was as hard as a rock but I did my longest day in that saddle which was 648.5 miles. My backside never had any pain with it but my legs were so sore I could hardly walk .

That seat looks really good. Actually the bike looks really sweet all the way around.

Same thing with Rick's saddles for me. I've done many days between 600 and 1000 miles on his seats and no pain or issues whatsoever. I did add a BeadRider on really hot days to keep a little airflow in the nether regions, but otherwise I could sit on them all day long for multiple days. I know my 3 week meandering around cross country trip a few years back would have sucked without one.

stock. Great JOB!! The cost for the seat job was $125.00 Their address is

Andy, tell him Alex sent you. Now you know

I'v been using this seat for 2years now, and its still GREAT! Aloha Alex

I have the Gel seat, the DP Race Seat and the Stock seat
Stock will kill your butt in no time.
Gel is 20mm lower than stock and is a luxury to behold compared to stock.
DP is the best of them all once it breaks in.. and it will kill your butt during the first few hundred miles, but after that it is the one you will keep
Not sure on the height of the DP compared to stock, but it feels relatively the same height. If I feel keen I can swap them later and measure the floor to seat distance.
Best of luck on whichever you end up with.
