Stuttering...
N n n no, not me, the Hyper.
But seriously, I've had my hyper for a few thousand miles, and had no issues with it at all. Recently I installed a Mad Doctor taillight/blinker assembly. I was riding through the hills earlier this week, and at one point, the motor stuttered pretty badly. It initially felt like maybe a bit of dirt clogged an injector for a split second, but I considered that since it was a twin, that was unlikely to be the cause of such an obvious stutter. Well, it didn't happen at all for the rest of the ride, and I rode it a few times since then without issue.
Fast forward to tonight. I'm coming home, and it's dark outside. I notice every so often my headlight seems to dim for a split second, and I begin to realize that it is stuttering ever so slightly every time the headlight dims. But it is just barely noticeable. So I'm concerned that I must have done something wrong with my Mad Doctor installation, so I'm going to take it all apart again and try to find if there is any exposed metal anywhere. But I'm wondering if anyone has had this happen that did NOT install an aftermarket taillight. And if so, is there anything else that might cause this to happen? Thanks.
For the EE guys in here, I should mention that my Mad Doctor does a strange thing with the blinkers that I can't seem to figure out. When I turn on the left blinker, the left blinker works correctly, but the right blinker comes on and stays solid until I turn off the blinker. The same happens to the right blinker as well. Could this be related? Btw, the stuttering does not happen when using the blinkers.

I don't think this is causing your stutter. I had the same thing happen when i had my stock turn signal integrated with the signals. I forget why it does this, but I think it has something to do with it switching the signals on the negative side. As far as your stutter, I have no idea.

I think I remember reading that Ducatis are wired sort of oddly in the back end ,I believe,
Someone was ripping Ducati for engineering it that way ..someone else said that the wiring worked for Ducatis but would get messed up if it was changed to after market..
No help I know , but to let you know it has happened before (I think)
Me and wiring don't get along ..Being dyslectic and colour blind....

As far as the stuttering goes, make sure your battery cables are tight. The turn signal problem sounds like a ground problem. Not sure how it's wired since I'm still running the stockers.Good luck.

Bad ground. As mentioned, make sure battery terminals are snug.

Did you find out what the problem was? I think this was happening to me on the ride home tonight. Check engine light came on with a buck / stutter, it would go out a couple of minutes later, then buck / stutter and came back on...

When I installed my Ducstacks, I found my neg battery cable was a bit loose. Not sure if that was the problem since I haven't had a bunch of seat time since then (but it probably was). But in the little time I did ride, I didn't have the problem.

I think I've read a thread about something like this before and it turned out to be a loose battery cable...

i too would check all the grounds. the other end of the battery ground cable and i believe the cpu ground are bolted to the front of the motor near the starter.
