7500 mile service soon - anything to know
Greetings all,
I'm coming up on 7500 miles which means the first MAJOR service for the tard. My question is - is there anything I should know, do, upgrade, etc while the bike is in the shop getting the valve adjustments etc? Any interesting experiences with this? I'm thinking prob not, but thought it would be good to ask.
Also, installing a nichols flywheel and most likely doing a 520 conversion as well. From reading the posts here, the 520 with the supersprox/new chain seems like a good way to go.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

depending on how good your dealer's technicians are, and if they have had the cam degree training from DNA ... i have heard that degreeing the stock cams is a good thing to do to gain a little more hp.

Alex told me part of the 7500 mile service was to install bigger pistons. port the heads. bore and coat the cylinders, send the heads to some place far away to have some magic done. Reasemble, test at the track and repeat. Please correct me if I'm missing somthing here.

Forgot to modify the crank ie. lightening, polishing, and balancing
Why the hell not? Everyone knows that disassembly is the most expensive part

Delamo Motorsports in Redond Bch Ca told me the cost should be about 600 if no adjustment is needed. Many have told me no adjustments were needed until after 10+ - Good luck as I'm not far away as well

I'd be thoughtful about going to Dellamo...If you're willing to go private, West Coast GP in WLA is great, and if you want to go dealer, I'd go to Pryitouttaya (Pro Italia) or So Cal in Brea...
