Used Hyper Motard S

Hi guys,

This is the first thread I post in HM section - usually I am on the Classic side I am looking for possible used HM-S as my second bike, and I want the S model only - I wonder, what's the different between 08' & 09' model? Is there is anything I need to pay attention to? How is the used bike market (especially in HM-S) now? I never buy any bike outside my local area (SF bay area) before, and I am open the idea now... and I wonder, any one on this board did it before? If so, how you like it and will you do it again (buying it without testing it or see it in person)?

Sorry for a lot of question... I just want to get a better idea what's going out there, and get more possible used bike to shop

I think is the same just different color of engine case. The used hm market right now is good for the buyer. they're selling them cheap, the monsters are holding thier value more than the hm. I saw a brand new 08 S sold for 10k at my dealer.

I believe the only difference between the '08S and '09S are the front forks. The 08's have zooks and the '09s went to Kayaba.

For '10, Ducati changed how the engine cases are manufactured and I believe the forks are back to Marzzochi.

Did I get that right guys?
